Alteration of the lips of the mouth or surrounding skin in the form of a rash or swelling, which is pinker or redder in tone and is usually bothersome. It may have a small lesion or wound that may bleed slightly or may be covered with a scab. This colour is best seen on light to medium skin tones and can be difficult to assess in darker skin tones.
