Back of the ear is red and swollen

Localised redness and swelling in the area immediately behind the ear, between the ear and the scalp. It is usually painful to the touch. The colour change is best appreciated in lighter to medium skin tones, but can be difficult to assess in darker skin tones, where only bulging or swelling will be noticeable.
