Gradual alteration in the colour and texture of the skin in the folds, especially in the armpits, nape of the neck, breasts and groin. Generally these areas become darker, from brown to black, and the skin thickens and becomes rougher to the touch, including the formation of wrinkles and folds. It has a velvety appearance and can often appear dirty.
