Back of the ear is red and swollen

Localized redness and swelling in the area immediately behind the ear, between the ear and the scalp. It is usually painful to the touch. The color change is best appreciated on lighter to medium skin tones and can be difficult to assess on darker skin tones, where only bulging or swelling will be noticeable.
